MPI has developed a number of Insurance schemes which complement any Major Incident Plan you may implement.

The main problem with any major incident is finding out with whom your customers are insured. An added problem is who pays if some are not insured; this may fall to you as the Tour Operator. There are fundamentally two ways to handle this

    1. Insure all your customers either for the full Travel Insurance Package or part all insured and part opt out. Please click here for more information.

    2. Consider our Travel Insurance 'opt out' concept utilising the MPI web based solution. Please click here for more information.

Under the MPI Travel Insurance all client Tour Operators have access to our Assistance Company's own Incident Plan which would dove tail into yours. Their plan works best where option one above is chosen, as you and they are able to handle matters with the knowledge that the medical and repatriation bills are covered. If you would prefer to give your customers a choice option two above could be considered.

You then need to consider the press, managing the incident, being able to continue running your business and the financial consequences. There is a policy available, Crisis Management Insurance, which is an adjunct to a Liability Policy. Please click here for more details.
