Travel and Ski Insurance
With each of the travel and wintersports insurance plans there are three packages for your customers to choose from and the sums insured and conditions are similar throughout the range.
MPI iFrame & Logo's
We will supply you with an iFrame to place on your Insurance webpage plus a series of logos or icons to place at suitable places on your website together with instructions for your IT technician. We also have suggested sales words for your webpage.
Commission
We are very keen to encourage as much business as possible and we feel that a reasonable exposure to our policies from your website together with other marketing material is an important factor in achieving this.
We will therefore pay commission based on the number of icons that appear on your website and their position, as well as the distribution of a sales flyer to your customers. The commission rates are therefore as follows:
- If you place two icons on your site, one in links and the other on a booking page or similar. 7.5% commission
- If you place two to three icons on your site, one in links, a booking page or similar and on one other page e.g availability or prices. 10% commission
- If you choose 1 or 2 above plus your home page. 12.5% commission
Distribution of Sales Flyer
We will supply you with a set of sales flyers for distribution to your customers and under the rules of the Financial Services Authority by becoming an Introducer you are required to distribute the flyer to all customers as you may not select. We would therefore ask that a sales flyer is placed in every envelope that leaves your office where a customer has requested a brochure and where customers have booked a holiday. It is naturally in your interest to do so in order to gain maximum exposure.
The flyers will amongst other things suggest that customers approach us through your website in order for us to accurately monitor the origin.
If you wish to become an issuing agent and issue policies for your customers, we suggest you contact us, as you must obtain the required Financial Authority Services license, unless your business is exempt (e.g. Travel Agents).
Medical Assistance and Claims
This is handled on behalf of MPI Brokers by Speciality Group and Claims Settlement Agencies. They report to us on all matters that may need referring to Underwriters and therefore we are able to keep you informed where necessary on potential large losses, air ambulance cases or possible contentious claims.
Calls to Speciality Group are very often from individuals experiencing an emergency incident. The caller may feel vulnerable and anxious; they will be looking for instant, practical solutions and reassurance, followed by guidance through the post-incident procedures
Their dedicated team of professionals have a wealth of assistance experience and are always ready to help. Staff are selected for their special skills and are trained to the highest standards. An extensive, quality controlled world-wide network of independent specialists is also ready to be deployed where they are needed most.

Claims are handled by Claims Settlement Agency, who have very close working relationships with Speciality Group.

This is linked to our Honeymoon Insurance where the customer may cancel his honeymoon following an event covered by the Wedding Insurance.

TERMS OF BUSINESS
1. Introduction
MPI Brokers (‘MPI’) is a trading name of Michael Pettifer Insurance Brokers Ltd
The Introducer wishes to make introductions to MPI for various insurance plans
2. Purpose of These Terms
To record in writing, the terms between MPI and the Introducer, for the sale and administration of Insurance to be made available to the Customers of the Introducer
3. Definitions
The following expressions shall have the following meanings:
Confidential Information: all information which relates to the operations, plans, know-how, trade secrets, business affairs, Logos, trademarks and intellectual property, customers or suppliers of either party
Customer: a customer of the Introducer
4. Obligations
MPI shall use its reasonable endeavours to:
deal direct with the Customer and offer him where possible insurance that he may reasonably request and advise the Customer of the premium and any fees applicable;
create and maintain a database of records relating to Insurance sold pass commission payments to the Introducer within the timescales agreed
The Introducer shall use its reasonable endeavours to:
introduce customers to MPI and where a sales or promotional leaflet is sent to customers or enclosed in mailings of any sort, all customers must receive a leaflet (you may not select customers – an FSA rule )
The Introducer may not:
1. offer any advice or recommendation in respect of the suitability of the Insurance
2. pass on information about his customers to MPI (the customer must contact us we may not contact the customer)
The Introducer must:
inform MPI of any intention of becoming an Introducer Representative or Appointed Representative for any other insurance provider
5. Intellectual Property Rights
Both parties will retain ownership of all their respective rights, including intellectual property rights in their respective plans, databases, computer programmes, documents, materials, ideas or other information which shall include claims statistics
6. Termination
Either party may give three months written notice to terminate the agreement
7. Compliance
Both parties shall comply with the rules set out by the Financial Services Authority and the Data Protection Act
8. Confidentiality
Neither party shall disclose to any third party any Confidential Information disclosed to either of them by the other nor use this for their own benefit
9. Expenses
Each party shall be responsible for its own expenses incurred in performing its obligations and complying with these terms of business
10. No Partnership
Nothing in these terms of business shall be construed as constituting a partnership between the parties
11. Law and Jurisdiction
These terms of business are governed by the laws of England and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
